Dear Australia,
There is no such thing as “Multicultural Australia”.
There’s only Australia, which is entirely multicultural.
Could we please start developing programs and workshops to empower our Anglo Australians integrate better into our society?
Some interesting topics to consider for your next conference/forum:
1. How can we empower Anglo Australia to integrate better into a multicultural society?
2. What can be done to improve social cohesion in Anglo Australian communities?
3. Do we need a special envoy/commissioner for Anglo Australians, to foster social cohesion and cultural understanding? I personally would vote for Kevin Rudd. He’s Anglo, bilingual (he speaks Mandarin) AND he’s a model Anglo citizen having been our past Prime Minister and all.
4. Should government agencies start giving grants to celebrate Anglo Australians so they feel more included and welcomed in society?
5. How about a culturally diverse panel that dissects the Anglo perspective on global affairs and how their culture plays a role in shaping our global agenda?
6. Should the education system include compulsory learning of a second language and should bilingualism be a criteria for Anglo migration into Australia?
7. Should we give out awards for the most outstanding Anglo Australian?
8. What if we made it hard for Anglo Australians to get a job unless they have international experience? We would be helping them diversify their skill set this way.
In Australia, we don’t tolerate Anglo Australians, we accept them, we welcome them, and we celebrate them!
Yours sincerely,
