COMPELL’s Road to Parliament Academy is Australia’s leading training institution for civic education and political leadership – designed for people who want to understand power, influence decisions, and strengthen our democracy.
Our programs are structured into two streams: Civic Education (building foundational knowledge) and Political Candidate Training (preparing for the campaign trail).
Please note, citizenship is NOT a requirement to attend our programs. We highly encourage and recommend everyone, regardless of visa status, to attend our workshops/programs.
Stream 1: Civic Education
The Australian Civic Excellence (ACE) Leadership Program is COMPELL’s flagship initiative establishing Australia’s first national civic capability infrastructure: a standards-based system that develops, assesses, and certifies civic competency while providing structured pathways into governance roles, politics, and public service.
This is not simply a training program. It is civic infrastructure—a systematic framework that:
- Establishes national standards for civic capability
- Certifies civic competency through rigorous assessment
- Creates verified pathways into governance, public service, and political leadership
- Meets 7 of 16 UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Builds lasting national capacity for democratic participation
The program welcomes Australians from all cultural backgrounds—permanent residents, newly arrived migrants, international students, long-term community members, and citizens.
Stream 2: Political Candidate Training/Mentorship/Network
Multicultural WHIP (Women Hustling in Politics) /// Join the Movement for Multicultural Women in Australian Politics
Multicultural WHIP (Women Hustling in Politics) is a women-only political leadership and candidate training program designed specifically for multicultural women, including migrants and first-generation Australians.
WHIP combines:
- civic and political literacy
- real-world candidate preparation
- an honest understanding of power, exclusion, and political reality
The word “whip” in politics is about discipline and ensuring the party votes together. Our “WHIP” is different. It’s about the hustle, the drive, and the collective energy we bring to break down barriers and build each other up.
